FA Ranch is located on the west side of Washoe Valley, 3 miles north from Carson City Nevada Exit 46 off of Hwy 395. Situated between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Washoe Lake, we have sun-filled days and ponds fed with fresh mountain springs. At 5,000 feet we have clean air, spring breezes, and long summer days followed by a mild fall. Winter season normally runs from December to Mid-March. The ranch itself consists of 5.5 acres with ponds and pastures; 35' x 90' runs with sheds; 12' x 16' barn stalls; a 20' x 20' foaling stall, with video and audio monitor; bull pen; and a full size arena. All hay is lab tested to assure proper protein levels and mineral balance. A computerized feed analysis program from Kentucky Equine Research Inc. assists in ensuring that horses of all ages and conditions receive the best feed for their situation. FA Ranch has its own AI collection and shipping facility. Semen is able to be collected and shipped 7 days a week. We are able to collect, evaluate, process and ship your stallions semen right from the ranch. We work continuously to remain current in this field. All on-site AI is handled by a equine reproduction vet. We support shipped for the mare owners who chose their horse at home. We also specialize in receiving fresh cooled semen or frozen semen from around the county. We work with you and your vets to reduce the cost and optimize conception rates. We ship using the latest containers, researching the most expedient method, and calculating weekend and holiday deliveries when needed.
During foaling and breeding season, personnel are on watch 24 hours a
day. The mare runs are located less than 30 feet from the house. Mares
that are due are checked on a regular basis and are moved under camera
as soon as any signs appear. FA Ranch is located 9 miles from a
veterinary hospital with AI and breeding specialties , including surgery
facilities with a board-certified surgeon.
